Community Announcements

Thanksgiving Community Meal

The Christian Mother’s Thanksgiving Dinner will be Sunday, November 19, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The meal includes turkey, dressing, and fixings. Plates are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 10 and younger. The Holiday Arts and Crafts Bazaar will be from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Basketball Season Passes

Fans may purchas a season pass for the 2017-18 basketball season through Monday, November 13, 2017. the pass will cover entry to junior high and high school home games, excluding the Nazareth Tournament. The pass is $48. Please see Mona Brockman or K’Lynn Gerber.

Canned Food Drive

Nazareth ISD is having a canned food drive until Friday, November 17. Every elementary student who brings ten cans of food can take a picture with their favorite Swift or Swiftette. The student in Junior High and High School who brings the most cans has the opportunity to throw a pie in the face of a teacher of their choice.

Friday Night Lights

On Thursday, November 9, the Nazareth Swifts faced the Anton Bulldogs to earn the district championship and a spot in the playoffs. The Swifts won with a narrow lead, and the final score was 47-46. Nazareth will face McLean for the first playoff game of the season at Valley on Friday, November 17, at 6:30 pm. Come on out and support the Swifts as they fight to advance to the next round!

 

Nazareth Yearbook Receives Top Honor

The 2016-2017 Nazareth High School Yearbook received the overall Distinguished Merit rank at the annual yearbook analysis. The yearbook is judged in several categories, such as photography, captions, writing, headlines and design, and given a rating in each section. The ranks from worst to best are Merit, Honor, Achievement and Distinguished Merit.

Last year’s yearbook received Distinguished Merit in several individual categories, including photography, writing, headlines, people coverage, sports coverage, academic coverage and organization coverage.

“I am very proud of my students and their hard work and determination,” yearbook advisor Cindy Huseman said. “I am excited to see what this year brings and hope that we can continue to improve.”
