Swifts Remain Undefeated

This week was a busy week for the Swifts. With a junior high and junior varsity game on Thursday and a varsity game on Friday against Petersburg, the fans had plenty of opportunities to support the school.

The junior high team displayed their teamwork at the game. Unfortunately, they lost the game, with a score of 55-20.

The junior varsity team was victorious and won with a final score of 46-0. The varsity team kept their winning streak by defeating the Buffaloes 49-32.

The junior high and junior varsity teams also played on Tuesday, September 19, against New Home. The junior high were victorious this game, and the final score was 23-16. The junior varsity lost a hard-fought battle, with a score of 44-34.

Cross Country Begins

The cross country runners started the season with a successful run on Saturday morning. The varsity girls finished 1st Place as a team, and the varsity boys placed 4th in the JV division.

New Staff at Nazareth ISD

HAYLEY WYNN

Please tell us a little about yourself, your family, and where you are from.

I grew up in Follett, and some of my family still lives there. My mom is a fifth grade teacher and my brother is an AG teacher.

What class/classes will you be teaching?

I am teaching algebra 1 and 2, seventh grade math, a college readiness class and an ACT/SAT preparation class.

How do you feel about coming to NISD?

I am excited to be coming to such an amazing school.

What are you most excited about?

I am excited to be teaching at a school that seems to succeed in almost everything they do.

What are your degrees and from what college?

I earned my math education degree from West Texas A&M University.

What are your goals that you have set for yourself this coming year?

I want to be able to rise to the level of success here and help the students succeed.

Besides the Swifts and Swiftettes, what other teams are your favorite?

My favorites are the Dallas Cowboys and the WT Buffs. During baseball season, I watch the Texas Rangers.

Community Announcements

Friday Night Lights

The next Varsity Football game is scheduled for Friday, September 22, at New Home. Come out and support the Swifts as they continue the season!

Server Practice

Fourth graders who wish to start serving at mass need to be at the training Wednesday, September 20, at 5:30 in the church. High Schoolers who want to continue serving need to be at the refresher course at 6:00 Wednesday, September 27.

Nazareth Education Foundation Fundraiser & Steak Dinner

On Saturday, September 30, the Education Foundation dinner starts with a social hour at 5:30 and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The $100 tickets include two steak dinners and an entry into the reverse raffle drawing. The top prize in the raffle is $1,500. For the steak dinner only, it is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. There will be entertainment by Steven Birkenfeld.
