JUDGING RESULTS

The dairy cattle judging team competed at Tarleton University in the judging competition against several 4-H and FFA judging teams.

The team placed 2nd overall.

Results:

Mike Schilderink – 8th high overall in FFA
Emily Heitschmidt – 5th high overall in 4H
Ellen Schilderink – 1st in Reasons
14th overall in FFA
11th overall in 4H
Amy Schilderink – 16th overall in FFA

LOCAL BANK HELPS FFA

Picture3    Peoples Bank Senior Vice President, Marcus Brockman, presented a $500 check to Teri Burnett, student and member of Nazareth FFA. Peoples Bank would like to thank all of the young men and women with the Nazareth FFA for stepping up and helping with the fire victims of the Perryton/Lipscomb Fire.  We are proud to support the farmers/ranchers that have lost so much in the fires, and are proud of all of the people in the Texas Panhandle for coming together and helping out.

 

 

Picture2Castro County 4-H members have been doing some spring time sewing. This week they turned candy wrappers into zippered bags with fabric lining. Pictured above is Spencer Acker sewing his bag from a KitKat wrapper.

 

 

Ogallala Quilt Festival will take place next week. It will kick off with a free preview night at Dimmitt Independent School District Activity Center on Tuesday, March 28th from 5:00 p.m.—7:00 p.m. All are invited to attend. The festival will then be open on Friday and Saturday all day.  Several local youth and adults will have quilts on display!

 

 

BRANDING IRON BENEFIT
Come to the Yellow Rose Inn and enjoy a beef stew meal with all the fixings. Feel free to bring your branding irons to brand our wooden fence, if you have not already. This will be the last opportunity to buy raffle tickets for a chance to win a trip to watch a Texas Rangers Baseball Game, $1000 Visa card from the bank, or a $500 United gift card. We will also have memorial bricks for sell.

Holy Family Parish Is Holding an Extraordinary Lenten Retreat

Friday, March 31, 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Saturday, April 1, 8:30am – 8:30pm

Sunday, April 2, 8:30am – 5:30pm

What you will gain from this retreat far outweighs the commitment of time, for it will Super-Energize our Lenten & Easter Experience.

The retreat will be held in the CCD Building which will allow you to return to your home each night. Come Join Us: Pick up a Registration Form in back of church or at the Rectory.

During the Lenten Retreat, we are asking for continuous prayer for those making this journey of renewal and will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday, March 31, from 7 to 9 pm, Saturday, April 1, from 9 am to 4 pm, and Sunday, April 2, from 11 am to 5 pm. If you are unable to attend the weekend retreat, then, please, come to pray for an hour. Sign-up sheet will be in foyer.
