LOCAL LEGION POOL TOURNAMENT

Late January in Nazareth means some serious gathering of mostly men at the Legion Hall to joust on the green – green felt that is. The annual Pool tournament is enjoyed by the veterans and their guests in two major series of play. The parking lot at the Francis Wilhelm American Legion looked like a gigantic truck sale on January 22 as the Calcutta began, and again over the weekend of the 29th. Many men carried their pool stick cases into the Hall looking like gun-slingers entering the swinging doors of the ol’West saloons – ready with the quick draw and the accurate shot.

Congratulations to this year’s winners:

Singles: 1st – Kevin Gerber                        Doubles: 1st – Ricky Rowland & Gus Gesling

2nd – Wayne Wilhelm                                             2nd – Barry Hoelting & Kit Schulte

3rd – Nathan Hoelting                                              3rd – Monty Hoelting & Ryan Birkenfeld

4th – Cory Hoelting
